The most amazing Crew Presentation
The Ultimate Crew Parade: Kicking Off the Catamarans Cup in Style!
The night before the first leg is when the magic begins. This is the legendary Crew Presentation Evening, where the contestants aren't just sailors; they're stars on the rise.
Imagine the scene as each crew takes the stage, not in their sailing gear, but in outfits that scream imagination and innovation. The themes? As boundless as the ocean. Pirates, sea animals and even rock bands or national outfits. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. There's no telling what other fantastical, whimsical, or downright bizarre themes the crews might conjure up from the depths of their creativity. Each crew makes their grand entrance not just in their eye-popping attire but also to the beat of their chosen anthem—a catchy tune that encapsulates their spirit and gets the crowd grooving.
And then, after the last crew has been introduced, comes the moment of truth—the voting! The special jury of the Catamarans Cup will choose the winner! The most innovative, clever and catchy outfit will win! And this is the first prize given during the Catamarans Cup week setting the tone for the competition ahead.
Cook-Off Competition – A unique event that you do not want to miss!
Beyond the thrill of the sail, lies an exciting side event!
Catamarans Cup stands out for the special and fun events that includes! One of them is the renowned Cook-Off Competition, that takes place at night after the first leg of racing. A different contest where each crew gets a chance to showcase their cooking skills and pay homage to their homeland’s cuisine!
After finishing the race and as the sun goes down, crews transform their boats into kitchens and give their best to bring out some dishes that will impress everyone! Early at night, people start gathering and a medley of aromas from all around the world create the perfect atmosphere for the show to begin.
Every crew display their dishes for others to sample and savor, paired with beverages from their country, trying to bring people to their table and gain their favoring vote! This format encourages not just sharing of food but also stories, laughter and a deep bonding.
The judges are none other than the participants themselves – the captain of each yacht will vote the favorite dish of him and his crew. The final winner – the Master Chef of the Catamarans Cup- is announced and as you might already know in case you have joined our regatta before, the party now kicks off!

Combining sailing action, fun team-building side events, super-fun parties and the official award ceremonies, the Catamarans Cup is open to both experienced sailors and families or groups with no previous sailing experience. This year the ever-enchanting and highly popular islands of the Argolic and Saronic Gulf were in the spotlight and the legs offered action-packed sailing and fun. Even when the wind wasn’t on our side, our sailing catamarans formed a giant circle flotilla big enough to mark our spot on the map and get the party going. A great time was had by all crews and Istion thanks everyone who participated to make this year’s Catamarans Cup the best yet!

Popular destinations and racing action!

11th Catamarans Cup 2021 - Full Story
A week of competitive sailing, fun & exciting events in the majestic Greek islands!
This is what the 11th Catamarans Cup was all about!
The full Catamarans Cup experience is over and we at Istion Yachting would like to thank each and every one of you beautiful people that skippered our beautiful yachts and made our days even more special after a 1 year Covid-19 hiatus. 4 races and numerous events after we can surely claim that the 11th Catamarans Cup was a total blast! The 11th was special in every wave we’ve met during the course of these 4 races and each port we’ve docked in the end of each race!
Day 1 - Athens, Alimos
Crew Presentation, Welcome & Opening Ceremony. Best Style Crew Presentation. Each crew got to present themselves during the welcome dinner, some of them in full outfits of their liking. As always the participant crews were as joyous and unique as ever! Full of smiles, energy and committed to enjoy the full Catamarans Cup experience!
Day 2: 1st Leg, Athens - Kea
The second day of the Catamarans Cup was a unique combination of fun, relaxation and sailing! Mystical Kea was the area of interest regarding the 1st leg of our sailing competition and our meeting point later in the night.
The 3rd day of the 11th Catamarans Cup was the most vivid so far during our stay in Kythnos! 2nd leg from #Kea to #Kythnos was a fierce and exhilarating sailing battle! All of our participants tested their sailing skills in our grandiose catamarans! Full of exciting sailing moments and events such as the crew-favorite Cook Off! competition! Our crews put their creative ideas into test and came up with a unique dish - of course in the most sanitary manner as possible - just enough for 20 people to taste. The entirety of the event and our crews cooking products were to dine for! Kythnos was enticing as always and led us to explore Cycladic paths and whitewashed wonders.
The 4th day of the 11th Catamarans Cup can serve as an entire highlight reel of relentless sailing! The 3rd leg from Kythnos to Hydra proved to be the most exciting as of now requiring all of our crews to demonstrate their sailing skillset in a highly professional manner! Reaching the finishing line and ending the race successfully our catamarans got to dock to the port of Hydra, the noble island in the Argosaronic Gulf. Hydra never disappoints as it's built in the shape of an amphitheatre on a slope overlooking the Argosaronic gulf and is one of the most picturesque destinations in #Greece! Our participants got to explore it's narrow cobblestoned streets and experience the island in all of its glory as it was a free evening for everyone and had no programmed events for the rest of the day!
Final day of the event and the setup was ready for the final race! Every crew was ready to sail after hosting the daily skippers briefing in the early hours of Thursday the 20th of October. The island of Poros was to be the the finishing line of the race and final destination of this year’s Catamarans Cup sailing tour. This year for the first time ever the Show Off! Competition was done aboard the catamarans where each crew got the chance to “dress-up” in costumes and theme of their choice and of course race to the finishing line. After the race, a farewell dinner was held in order to congratulate the participants and winners of the overall sailing competition rescheduling their next meet-up at the 12th Catamarans Cup in 2022.
