as published for the 16th Catamarans Cup 2026
ORGANISING AUTHORITY
The Organising Authority is ISTION YACHTING SA. The event will be sailed in the waters of Saronic & Argolic Gulf, Greece from 24th to 31st of October 2026.
1. RULES
1.1 The event will be governed by:
• The International Rules for Preventing Collisions at Sea Board
• The safety measures of each participating boat shall comply with all referred in her Certificate Of General Inspection
• This Notice of Race, the Sailing Instructions and their amendments.
In case of contradiction, the Sailing Instructions shall prevail.
1.2 All yachts participating in the regatta shall depart from Alimos Marina with full fuel and water tanks and shall carry their full standard inventory and equipment as supplied by the Organising Authority. During the regatta, yachts shall retain the quantities of fuel and water remaining onboard following normal consumption and shall not deliberately reduce fuel or water levels in order to gain a performance advantage. The use of additional sails or equipment not included in the yacht's standard inventory, such as a gennaker, is not permitted.
1.3 No National Authority prescriptions will apply.
1.4 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.
2. ADVERTISING
2.1 Boats may be required to display advertising and identification chosen and supplied by the Organizing Authority.
2.2 Boats carrying advertisement must carry the relative permission from the Organizing Authority. The advertisement logo must be submitted attached to the Race Entry form, until 5th October, 2026
3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 Eligible boats may enter by completing the attached form and sending it, accompanied by the required entry fee, to Istion Yachting, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , by 5th October, 2026.
3.2 Late entries will be accepted with the fee increased by 15%.
4. ENTRY FEE
To enter the 16th Catamarans Cup International each boat shall pay the entry fee by 5th October, 2026 via bank’s transfer or with credit card to company’s bank account.
5. SCHEDULE
5.1 Registration:
i. Athens, ISTION Yachting base office in Alimos Marina, 24th October 2026, 10.00 - 19.00
ii. Athens, ISTION Yachting base office in Alimos Marina, 24th October 2026, 08.00 - 09.00
5.2 Races:
Sunday 25th October to Wednesday 28th October 2026
5.3 The scheduled time of the start signal for the race each day is 11.00.
6. RATING
The rating for each boat has been calculated under MULTI 2000 Handicap System.
Τhe boats will be divided in Two (2) CLASSES A & B according the rating and these will be determined by the number of the entries.
7. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The Sailing Instructions will be available upon registration.
8. VENUE
Attachment A shows the location of the Event harbours.
9. THE COURSES
The courses to be sailed will be as follows:
Alimos - Poros 26,50 nm
Poros - Surprise Bay 15-25 nm
Surprise Bay - Paralio Astros 20-30 nm
Paralio Astros - Nafplio 09,50 nm
The route may be modified subject to the weather conditions.
Details about the legs and their exact distance will be provided in the Sailing Instructions.
10. PENALTY SYSTEM
For infringement of the priority rules the One-Turn Penalty will apply.
11. SCORING
A boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
12. PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded to:
a. The 1st boat of each class of each leg
b. The 1st boat in each class A & B in the final overall scoring of the class
c. The first three boats in the final overall scoring

13. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the 16th Catamarans Cup International entirely at their own risk.
The Organizing Authority and sponsors, will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death, illness, or loss of property sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the Event.
By joining, each participant accepts personal responsibility for their safety and well-being.
The responsibility for the Decision of a boat to participate in the Event or to continue to sail is exclusively hers.
14. MEDIA & PHOTOGRAPHY CONSENT
- The event will be documented with photos and videos for promotional purposes.
- Participants consent to the use of their image in communication and promotional materials.
- Parental consent is required for minors.
15. INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance while racing with a minimum cover of 1.000.000 Euro per case or the equivalent.
