Race Officer - Mark Layer Konstantinos Chaniotis
was born in Athens and his love for the water has been obvious from his early childhood years. Consequently, at the age of 8, with his father's encouragement, he started his journey with the sport of sailing, which won his heart from the first day he steered the Optimist. He is a graduate of the Athens University, School of Sports Science, with a major in sailing. He has attended many seminars in Greece and abroad on subjects such as organizing, conducting and tactics of races.He has participated and also won distinctions in European and World Championships in the classes of Laser, Lighting, J24, Platu 25 and offshore sailing.For many years he was a member of the National Greek Sailing team.Today he is a member of the Greek Challenge team for the participation in the America's Cup.During his coaching career, his athletes won distinctions in Greek, European and World championships.
